Human Science - Assistant Professor (Conflict Studies)

The Faculty of Human Sciences at Saint-Paul University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the School of Conflict Studies.  

Saint Paul University is a Catholic and bilingual institution of higher learning federated with the University of Ottawa. The university seeks to promote excellence in teaching, research, and professional development at the international, national, and local levels.  

Requirements:  

• PhD (or near completion) related to conflict studies in a social sciences or humanities discipline;
• Professional practice in the field of conflict resolution and management (mediation, negotiation, coaching, ombuds work, restorative practices, etc.);
• Record of publications in the field of conflict management/resolution;
• Teaching experience (ideally face-to-face and online) of courses and workshops on conflict management and resolution skills;
• Bilingualism: must be able to teach in French and English.

Nature of the role: 

• Graduate and undergraduate teaching in conflict management;
• Supervision of master's and doctoral students;
• Contribution to the development of projects, programs and activities within the School, particularly for research and publications, for the teaching of applied courses and for the Center for Informal Dispute Resolution (CIDR);
• Participation in various faculty and university committees, including Faculty Council meetings.
