Job Summary
The Director, Student Wellness and Development is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for student engagement, development, and wellness programs, including related services, case management, and supports. The Director advances a vision of student-ready principles, holistic student wellness, development, engagement, and belonging across the institution which meets the needs and experiences of a diverse student body.

The Director serves as the central point of contact and as a primary advocate to senior leadership for Student Wellness and Development, and is responsible for leading high-quality services, development and oversight of applicable policies and procedures consistent with university protocol, strategic priorities, and development and maintenance of collaborations across the university as well as with community partners related to student wellness and development.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Leadership, Student Affairs, Mental Health, Social Sciences, or relevant discipline
  • Seven (7) years of related work experience including student support services and leadership experience in a post-secondary, or combination of post-secondary, community organization, or health care environment, of which at least two (2) years' is in post-secondary
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, intersectional student issues, crisis interventions, and emergencies
  • Evidence of an inclusive and collaborative approach to leadership
  • Proven ability to develop, monitor, and evaluate organizational plans
  • Management/supervision experience, ideally in a union environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including teambuilding
  • Excellent written and oral communication including experience developing and administering policy
  • Experience developing and delivering workshops and programming
  • Demonstrated knowledge of post-secondary students, including subpopulations within, and their wellness needs
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development relevant to the portfolio
  • Strong understanding of the professional standards for providing service to students
