Currently, Algoma is seeking an Interim President and Vice-Chancellor to serve in the role until a new President and Vice-Chancellor is appointed. The Interim President and Vice- Chancellor will provide leadership across the campuses (Sault Ste. Marie, Brampton, and Timmins) and will work co–operatively with the Board of Governors, Senate, and all members of the University community to advance its vision, Special Mission and values. The Interim President and Vice-Chancellor will be an advocate for excellence in teaching and learning, research and student success at the University.

As the ideal candidate for the interim role, you are a respected and valued academic leader. You are deeply committed to collegiality, collaboration, transparency and service to community, in the broadest sense. Authentic, approachable, and an effective communicator, you will engage with faculty, staff, students, Board of Governors and partners in a genuine and respectful way. You are a strategic, resilient and courageous decision maker with the business acumen to position Algoma for continued success. Algoma will benefit from your relationship building, negotiation, financial and change management skills, as well as your commitment to collegial governance. As the successful candidate, you will preferably have obtained an earned doctorate or highest credential in your discipline along with an outstanding record of achievement in teaching, research/scholarly activity, university service and student interaction.
