Athabasca University's Faculty of Business is currently recruiting for an Academic Coordinator.
This full-time permanent position is located in Alberta.
About the Faculty:
The Faculty of Business is a major AACSB-accredited business school in Canada, offering programs at the Bachelor's, Master's, Postgraduate Diploma, and Doctoral levels. The Faculty is dedicated to supporting students, the business community, and society through outstanding, innovative, and accessible business education.
The Position:
The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery, teaching, administration, and maintenance of the following undergraduate courses:
- ADMN 404
- ADMN 405
- ORGB 364
- ORGB 327
The Academic Coordinator ensures the coordination and teaching of these courses, supervises assigned Academic Experts/Markers, and collaborates with support staff as necessary. Duties include handling student issues (grade appeals, course challenges, exam reviews, transfer credit requests, academic misconduct) as well as overseeing a team of tutors who are responsible for assisting students. The Academic Coordinator may be required to support course revisions already in progress and provide final review and sign-off.
This position reports to the Department Co-Chairs HR/OB, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Business.
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate/graduate master's degree is required. A PhD, DBA, or an individual progressing towards one of these qualifications is preferred.
- Experience in online learning/teaching and familiarity with AU-specific digital administration and teaching technologies (e.g., Moodle, Brightspace, Grades) are preferred assets.
