Medicine - Associate or Full Professor (Pediatrics, Health Professions Education)

The Centre de recherche en pédagogie de la santé (CRPS) is dedicated to stimulating and supporting research, innovation, and knowledge mobilization in health professions education. Guided by values of collaboration, humanism, excellence, and creativity, the CRPS contributes to transforming education and maximizing its impact on learners and communities.

Day-to-day responsibilities
Through your undergraduate and graduate-level teaching, and your research activities, you will contribute to the faculty’s pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, you will promote your discipline and actively participate in the daily activities of a renowned institution. As such, you will:

• Develop, secure funding for, and implement an innovative, dynamic, and transformative research program in health professions education, with a primary focus in evaluation, including program evaluation;
• Contribute to structuring a scholarly environment in health professions education by leveraging their scientific expertise, transforming educational initiatives into rigorous, evaluated, and disseminable projects;
• Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows;
• Teach at the graduate level;
• Contribute to the academic life and operations of the Department of Pediatrics, the Faculty of Medicine, and the CRPS;
• Participate in activities that enhance the visibility and reputation of the Department of Pediatrics, the Faculty of Medicine, and the CRPS, notably through dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at scientific conferences, and knowledge mobilisation activities within clinical practice settings.

Qualifications

• Hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in education, psychology, sociology, nursing, medicine, or another relevant discipline (e.g., rehabilitation sciences, nutrition, kinesiology, speech-language pathology, audiology);
• Have developed a recognized expertise in evaluation, including expertise in program evaluation in health professions education, a strong academic record and an established research track record in a field related to health professions education;
• Demonstrate the ability to sustain an internationally recognized research program in health professions education through competitive grant applications and publications in peer-reviewed journals;
• Possess exceptional communication and leadership skills;
• Demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality university-level teaching;
• Demonstrate potential for developing internal, national, and international collaborations;
• Demonstrate potential for supervising graduate students;
• Have functional proficiency in English;
• Have adequate proficiency of the French language or be committed to learning it once hired, through the Université de Montréal’s French language support program, in accordance with the Université de Montréal language policy.
